Optimise your jobsite’s productivity and safety

Gantry Cranes – also called portal cranes – are regarded as the heavy lifters in the materials handling industry. Due to their ability of having cantilevers, this allows the load to be lifted outside their set rail centres, therefore, maximising the working area of your job site.

These cranes are commonly used in outdoor applications such as shipping, fabrication, concrete, steel, container, and rail yards where full overhead crane systems and their supporting structures are not feasible. With loads up to 500 tonnes on Standard RGM products and spans up to +35 m, we’ll ensure your entire work area is covered with heavy lifting capabilities.

Quality turnkey solutions

RGM Cranes designs all overhead cranes in-house with strict adherence to local and international standards. All drawings are conceptualised before being sent for client approval.

With over 30 years of industry experience in manufacturing, installing, and maintaining cranes, RGM Cranes is the perfect partner to assist you with handling your heavy loads.

Backed by premium global technologies

We engineer and manufacture your crane backed by leading technology providers such as Schneider machine automation technologies, Planeta electric chain hoists and Güralp wire rope hoists.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are gantry cranes?

A gantry crane is a type of overhead lifting equipment that operates on a support structure known as a gantry. This structure is designed to carry the crane, which can be used to lift heavy loads. Unlike traditional cranes, gantry cranes are not reliant on a building’s infrastructure, which minimises the need for additional columns or beams to support the crane.

What are gantry cranes used for?

Gantry cranes are typically used in outdoor environments such as scrap yards, railyards, and manufacturing plants, where heavy lifting is required. These cranes are designed to handle large, heavy loads, making them ideal for tough, industrial tasks.

In addition to outdoor use, gantry cranes can also be used in indoor settings, such as warehouses and production facilities.

What is the lifting capacity of gantry cranes?

Our gantry cranes offer a maximum load capacity of 540 tonnes. We offer a wide range of options, each with different specs so you can choose the one that best suits your requirements.

Do you offer custom crane solutions?

Yes, at RGM Cranes, we specialise in providing bespoke crane solutions. We work closely with our customers to design, manufacture, and supply cranes tailored to meet specific lifting and operational needs. Whatever your crane requirements may be, we can provide a custom solution to match.

Which gantry crane is right for me?

Choosing the right gantry crane depends on several factors, including:

  • Will the crane be used indoors or outdoors?
  • What type of load will you be lifting, and what is its weight?
  • What lifting capacity do you require?
  • What size crane do you need?
  • How frequently will the crane be used?
  • Do you require a powered or non-powered crane?

If you’re unsure about which gantry crane is best for your needs, our team is here to help. Feel free to get in touch, and we will assist you in selecting the ideal crane for your specific application.
